It’s NOT about the pasta!

If you recognized the subject line you know one of my guilty pleasures is reality TV 😁.   

Do you LOVE pasta?  Are you someone who likes to eat large portions?  If you said YES, then I have a “be healthy enough” option for you…ZUCCHINI NOODLES!

My mission is to find healthier options for us over 50, both with food and exercise. Finding ways to exercise around the aches and pains that creep in AND healthier swaps for the foods we love.

Zucchini noodles are one of those healthier swaps and I am going to be VERY honest…I actually like them better and feel so much better than I do after a heavy bowl of regular pasta.  For the same two cups of noodles (pasta vs. zucchini), spaghetti has over FIVE times as many calories.

You can treat zucchini noodles just like pasta; with marinara, pesto, scampi, we even use them for beef stroganoff!   Here is a quick video of how my husband makes zucchini noodles with just a mandolin    HOW TO MAKE ZUCCHINI NOODLES
